Nano-Perforated Silicon Membrane with Monolithically Integrated Buried Cavity

A wafer-scale fabrication process builds monolithically suspended nano-perforated silicon membranes with integrated support structures, using a cyclic DREM process to directionally etch 300 nm, high-aspect-ratio nanopores at 700 nm pitch, then forms a buried cavity beneath them via isotropic etching for a thick, mechanically robust NPM.

Electrolyte Anions Suppress Hydrogen Generation in Electrochemical CO Reduction on Cu

Using electrochemistry-mass spectrometry, this study shows that halide electrolyte anions suppress the undesired hydrogen evolution reaction during electrochemical CO2 and CO reduction on Cu, with H2 production decreasing in the order KF > KCl > KI, while CO reduction shows the inverse trend, explained via a mechanism linking halide anions to classical molecular dynamics simulations.

Insights Into Electrocatalytic Hydrogenation of Furfural on Nanoparticulate Pd/C Under Acidic Conditions

By directly coupling electrochemistry with mass spectrometry, this study deconvolutes the hydrogen evolution reaction from electrocatalytic hydrogenation of furfural on carbon-supported palladium nanoparticles under acidic conditions, extracting Tafel slopes and showing the reaction proceeds via a Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism rather than proton-coupled electron transfer, with furfuryl alcohol blocking the surface.

Direct Electrocatalytic Propylene Epoxidation on PdOx and PtOx

Using in situ electrochemical mass spectrometry to overcome the ex situ detection challenges of unstable propylene oxide in aqueous media, this study investigates direct electrocatalytic propylene epoxidation on PtOx and PdOx noble metal oxide catalysts, probing reaction mechanisms to improve yield and selectivity toward industrial requirements.
